Our vision for this ministry is to support women in the local church to grow as disciples of Jesus, loving God with all her heart, soul, mind, and strength and her neighbor as herself. We plan to do this in three main ways.

First, through bible study. Moving forward, there will be a rhythm of bible studies offered in the Spring, Summer and Fall that meet in the mornings and evenings. We are committed to offering childcare during the morning bible studies to allow for as many of you to join us as possible.

Second, through collective events. Community groups are the main source of building community at Veritas, but we recognize that ladies want to connect with other women across these groups. We will aim to have 2-3 official events per year and will vary in size, scope, and purpose. If there is an event you are interested in, please let us know.

Third, through organic mentorship relationships. Finding a mentor is tough, let’s be honest. The details are still fuzzy for us but know that we do want to help facilitate these organic relationships. Please let us know if you are interested in being mentored or serving as a mentor.

Spring Bible Study:

Behold & Believe

Seeing is believing. If we want to know who Jesus is and why he is important to our lives, we need to take a closer look at what he said about himself. Jesus describes himself as the bread of life, the light of the world, the good shepherd, and more. His bold words invite us to behold him—and then to trust him.

Whether you’ve never read the Bible, have followed Jesus for years, or find yourself somewhere in between, this 7-week Bible study from Courtney Doctor and Joanna Kimbrel explores the question, Who is Jesus? Using the “I Am” statements in the Gospel of John, readers will learn how to observe, interpret, apply, and reflect on key Bible verses about Jesus’s identity. Weekly prayers, memory verses, brief commentaries, and discussion questions help women to see Jesus, trust him alone for salvation, and proclaim his goodness to others.

Spring 2024 Read:
You Are a Theologian by JT English and Jen Wilkin

About the book:
The goal of theology is knowing and loving God well. This is a lifelong endeavor, a never-ending pursuit, not for the sake of knowledge, but for an ever-deepening relationship with God Himself. Authors Jen Wilkin and J. T. English invite you to become not merely a consumer of theology, but a contributor to the conversation, and to grow in faithfulness to the Great Commission’s call to make disciples.

You Are a Theologian addresses theological questions such as:

  • Who is God? The Doctrine of the Trinity

  • What is God like? The Attributes of God

  • What is the Bible? The Doctrine of Scripture

  • Who are we? The Doctrine of Humanity

  • What went wrong? The Doctrine of Sin

  • What has God done? The Doctrines of Christology, Atonement, and Justification

  • To whom do we belong? The Doctrine of the Church

  • How does the story end? The Doctrine of Last Things
