At the center of the Christian faith stands a message the Apostle Paul calls "of first importance": that Christ died for our sins, was buried, and was raised on the third day, all according to the Scriptures. This Good Friday and Easter, we give our attention to that astoundingly good news. On Good Friday, we turn to Isaiah 52:13–53:12, where the prophet speaks of a Servant who is despised and rejected, crushed for our iniquities, and bearing in himself what we deserved. On Easter Sunday, we open 1 Corinthians 15:1-11, where Paul declares that this promised One who died was then raised from the dead, emptied the tomb, and appeared to witnesses by the hundreds. Join us as we receive again the word on which the church has stood from the beginning.
